Secondary Transition Talks – Part 2
Course Description
This course is designed for secondary transition special education teachers seeking to strengthen their knowledge and practice in supporting students as they prepare for life beyond high school.
Participants will explore resources, agencies, and best practices related to secondary transition services and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development. The course provides practical information educators can use to develop meaningful transition plans, connect students and families with appropriate resources, and support successful postsecondary outcomes.
Course Focus
Participants will:

Explore resources and agencies that support students during secondary transition.

Strengthen their understanding of effective secondary transition planning.

Examine best practices for developing transition-focused IEPs.

Identify strategies for connecting students and families with appropriate services and supports.

Apply course learning to improve transition planning and IEP development.
Continuing Education
CEUs are available for this course. These CEUs may be applied toward Cafeteria Credit through the University of Mary.
