Supporting Transition-Age Students and Professionals 23-24

The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 had provisions for increased access to higher postsecondary education for students with intellectual disabilities (ID). For a variety of reasons, many young adults with ID want to go to college. To encourage students with ID who want to go to college in North Dakota, teachers need to help students and their families to have high expectations and to be aware of the available options. This training session will describe these components and also provide an overview of resources that teachers can use to support transition-age students with disabilities as they prepare for adulthood.

Upon completion of this course, you will earn a 1 1/2-hour certificate towards a credit.
