Full course description
Do you know that progress monitoring is required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)? The IDEA states that “a student’s IEP must contain individual measurable goal statements, in all areas of unique need, that address the student’s academic and functional skills. Measurable goals enable the child to make progress in the general education curriculum. The goals must also meet the child’s other unique educational needs that result from the child’s disability.” 34 CFR§300.320 (a)(2).
This training will describe how to write a measurable goal and help you understand when the IEP team should meet to review or take additional action. Ideally, progress monitoring becomes part of a continuous improvement cycle.
