Procedural Safeguards

Students with disabilities and their parents are guaranteed certain educational rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). These are called procedural safeguards. These procedural safeguards explain the ground rules for how parents work with the school district. It is essential that school personnel who work with a student with disabilities understand the procedural safeguards.
