Full course description
EWIMS Step 4 is about interpretation. Teams look beneath the indicators to understand the conditions, characteristics, and contexts that explain why students are showing risk. A student’s absences, behavior referrals, or low grades are symptoms of risk; Step 4 uncovers the causes.
Teams use root-cause analysis to identify factors that are within the school’s sphere of influence. By identifying why a pattern exists, EWIMS teams prepare to select effective supports in Step 5.
Credit Option:
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn half an hour of credit toward the required 15 hours.
