Full program description
The NCEC: Essentials of Math Instruction Learning Series is part of the ND Math Counts program. Grounded in North Dakota Senate Bill 2213, the series explores best practices for mathematics instruction across three connected parts: leveraging high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) and explicit instruction to support problem solving, using formative assessment to drive instructional decisions, and differentiating instruction to create access to grade-level learning for all students.
Throughout the series, participants build deeper math content knowledge through learning progressions across the middle grades, including Numbers and Operations; Algebraic Reasoning; Data, Probability, and Statistics; and Geometry and Measurement. Each part builds on the one before it, and all three parts must be completed to earn 1 Graduate Level Credit through VCSU.
